Great spot. Ordered a few dishes and was pleased. Loved the fried rice though, very delicious and it had chunks of fresh pineapple. Also the crab ragoons were the best I ever had. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the dining environment was pleasant. While we were eating, there was a steady stream of people picking up takeout orders, so the restaurant seemed quite popular. We ended up coming back a second time during our visit. If we’re in the area again, we’d definitely be happy to return.

When I walked into the restaurant, the food smelled amazing but that’s where the good part ended. By the time I got back to my hotel, all the juice had leaked into the bag because the containers weren’t sealed properly. I ordered pepper steak, but the meat was tough and completely unseasoned. The hot and sour soup was horrible too honestly, that was somehow the best thing I had. The crab rangoon was dry and a complete waste of money. And don’t even get me started on the fried rice how do you mess up fried rice? Jesus Christ. Overall, I spent $30 and felt completely fooled by the reviews. Definitely won’t be going back. I’ll stick to Dallas at least the Chinese food there is actually good.

This place is a GEM! I used to eat in Austin but found this beautiful little restaurant next to the Gattis Town Buffet. From the outside looks like an average strip mall but when I walked into Hunan Lion I was happily surprised with such a gorgeous atmosphere. I enjoyed the beautifully decorated restaurant and sat down expecting some average chinese food. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING FOOD. I enjoyed some sweet n sour chicken and the egg rolls with rangoons. Now let me tell you the chicken is fresh and white meat chicken, the batter used to fry the chicken is fresh you can tell it isnt a batter that sits all day and it was not chewy but light and crisp. Each bite was sooooo enjoyable. The have nice chunks of pineapple and red bellpeppers included and the sweet n sour sauce was phenomenal. The egg rolls were soooo yummy spiced to perfection and the rangoons light and airy with cream cheese. I have gone so many times now that I thought I needed to mkae this review. I surprised my 2 fat brothers with some of their chicken fried rice and these boys were mind blown by how yummy the food was. My entire family is now hooked. This is the 2md Sunday we have been here and the food is great. The proteins and big. If you are in a group of 5 ppl and y'all get a different plate each yall would be able to share and enjoy everyone's food. Prices are reasonable and will not break the bank. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Only thing about this place. Don't come in during the lunch rush. It may be 25 to 45 minutes wait. But it is worth the wait.
